No one wants to take another life or seriously injure someone. Officer involved shootings are one of the most traumatic, stressful and high profile incidents an officer can be involved in during his or her career. While one would hope that they are never involved in such an incident, the truth is that the chances that you are becoming greater and greater every year.  If involved in a shooting, you need to not only know how to give the most accurate information to the department and investigators, but you also need to know, that everything you say will be scrutinized and second guessed by your department, as well as the media and the public. It is imperative that you protect yourself and “get it right” from the beginning. This Seminar will be 4 hours of intense training on how to prepare you for this traumatic event.  Attendees will receive a handbook with the training.  You will learn about your “Garrity Rights” and step by step instructions on what to do when you are forced to shoot your weapon.  This seminar is free to Maryland Law Enforcement Officers.  Maryland In-Service Training credit will be available to attendees.
